NOTE: We receive a lot of requests for information on Civil War reenactment events throughout the country. Below is a listing of events to assist people in their search for an event near them. This Week in the Civil War does not take any responsibility for the accuracy of any of the information in these listings and requests that readers do their due diligence. While most of these listings are written with the reenactor in mind, please be aware that not everything listed is open to spectators. Please use the contact links at the end of each entry to verify the information. 2013 Civil War Reenactment Calendar

Jan. 19-20, 2013 – 33rd Annual Brooksville Raid (FL)

At Sand Hill Scout Reservation, west of Brooksville, Florida. Friday school day, battles both days, ladies tea, Blue/Gray Ball, church service. March 23-24, 2013 – 3rd Annual Battle of Zekiah Swamp (MD)

Held at the Dr. Samuel Mudd Farm in Waldorf, Maryland. Union and Confederate reenactors, generals and living historians are wanted for encampment and reenactments. 1,500-2,000 Boy Scouts expected. June 1-2, 2013 – The Battle at Tunnel Mill (IN)

As Confederate General John Hunt Morgan began his daring raids in Kentucky and Southern Indiana in 1863, citizens of the Ohio River Valley feared for their safety. This Living History event interprets the energy of that historic period. During the American Civil War, Tunnel Mill, then known as “Green’s Mill” was producing large amounts of flour for the Union Army. Guards were placed on the mill to prevent Morgan’s men from sabotaging it. This fictional skirmish represents what could have occurred had Morgan targeted the mill. Admission is free. Parking is $5 per car. Reenactors may register at www.historictunnelmill.org. Firewood and water are provided to the reenactors. Horses are welcome!

June 27-30, 2013 – 150th Anniversary Battle of Gettysburg (PA)

A Blue Gray Alliance Event. Registration Now Open! Historically accurate battles Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday including McPherson’s Ridge, Culp’s Hill, East Cemetery Hill, A.P. Hill’s attack, Longstreet’s attack, Little Round Top, Fairfield and East Cavalry Field cavalry battles, and Pickett’s Charge. Weapons demonstrations, living history interpretations, fighting through the civilian-only “town” of Gettysburg, sutlers, lectures, period music, civil war ball, and church service. Amenities include firewood, straw, water. Registration is adults $20, children under 14 free. This event is by re-enactors, for re-enactors. It is family-friendly and spectators are welcome. July 4-7, 2013 – 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg (PA)

    Saw the The Conspirator, Which I was not impressed with as an Englishman it awoke my interest in the Civil War and followed links to get a better idea of the truth. Will now follow your Website on other things I read about and hope one day to get to one of your re-enactments . Will pass this Website on to 2 friends of mine who I know have an interest in the civil war as on previous trips to your country I have purchased books for them.       Keep checking back. We post the event listings as we get them. They are put in chronological order, not geographic order. I know this is a bit more difficult, but it’s the best way for us to handle this. We’ll be making an update to the event listings within the week.

    I’m needing direction as to how to sell my great grandfather’s Union parade drum, diary, pictures, and metals as a package deal. He was part of the Meridian, MS takeover as a camp / parade musician. All items authentic. Any help is appreciated.

I attend as the widow of Private Thomas Davis with copies of his muster rolls, oath to United States after his becoming prisoner of war at the capitulation of Vicksburg, widows stipend paid to me, and more.
